Choosing Love

This week's message is Choosing Love. Choose your connection speed to listen: dialup - broadband - transcript

What Is Love?

The movie script writers, musicians, and other leaders of today's society would have us believe love is something we can't control; it just happens to us, or it doesn't.

But what does God say about love? Isn't he the one who created love, and, in fact, isn't he the very essence of love? And knowing he is, should we be going somewhere else for our definition of love?

Today we explore this issue, and ponder the question: Is love a feeling or a choice? Is love a one-time choice? And what is God's will and desire for what love choices we make?

Choose your connection speed above and join us for worship and a time in the Word, and explore the answer to the question, "What is love?"

Do you enjoy poetry and music? My wife, Jennifer Faust, has gathered together some of her best poetry and has recorded it just for you. I have composed original music with sound effects especially for each poem in Jen's Poetry Volume One.

Making The Choice

As we discovered in today's exploration of Scripture, love is a choice. Not only is love a choice, love is a daily choice. Every day, even every moment of every day, do we make the choice to love God or to follow after our own desires which are contrary to true, eternal love? Fellowship - click to enlarge

Of course the correct answer seems obvious. But does our response reflect our knowledge?

Jesus told us, "Whatever you do or don't do unto the least of these, you do or don't do unto me." We all have daily decisions to love God or follow our flesh, and many times that decision involves showing God's love to those around us.

The most seemingly hopeless sinner you can call to mind is the object of God's burning, passionate desire, and he longs to have a deep, personal, intimate relationship with them. And to truly love God, we must look past the outer appearance and see deeper, seeking to see more like God sees, and seeing them right where they are.

God didn't wait for us to come to him. Long before we came to Jesus, his Holy Spirit came to us and was drawing us, preparing us, calling us to come. And as the hands and feet of Jesus, we must not wait for them to come to us we must go to them.

Currently there are more than 1,636,576 people in the virtual community we have been called to reach, and that number grows by 30,000 to 100,000 per week. Help us reach as many of those as possible with the love and life-changing Good News of reconciliation with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Please partner with us today! Ask God what he would have you do as a one-time gift and as a monthly partner.

Additionally, you can ask us to send information about our ministry in the virtual world to your pastor, ministry, or Christian business. When they catch the vision and see what a large and virtually unreached mission field the virtual world is, they will be given the chance to play a part in this powerful outreach. Visit here to request information sent to your church, ministry, or Christian business.

Visit here to become a financial partner or give a one-time gift today. And remember, whatever you do to the least of these, you do unto Jesus.

Prayer Requests & Praise Reports

Healing and Guidance Curry writes, "Please pray that God will heal my baby from sickness. We are going abroad in 6 days time. Pray to God that He will guide us through." Altar Ministry - click to enlarge

Healing from Lyme Disease Christopher asks us to pray for complete healing from Lyme disease. Our God is the God who heals!

Ministry Schwanke writes, "Please pray for me and my role within the (virtual world) community. I am currently drawn to ministering to the party scene via music as well as setting up a clothing and items shop with a friend of mine. God has told me that I have unconventional ministries so doing such things as simply witnessing with tracts or talking about just Jesus with people is usually NOT what God uses me for. ... Please also pray for the other people (requesting prayer)..."

Pray For Us! Please pray that God will continue to move through this ministry in an even greater measure. Without your prayers, our labor will not have much effect. But when the work of the ministry is backed by prayer, great things will happen!

Visit our prayer center to post requests or pray for those who daily request prayer. If you wish to be a prayer partner and have the requests e-mailed to you, contact us.
