In the Power of the Tongue
Scripture tells us that both life and death are in the power of the tongue. What does this mean? Does it mean we can have whatever we say? Or is there another meaning?
Next week we'll talk a bit more about the rest of this passage which talks about blessings and curses. But this week we take a look at the role the spoken word plays in creation, its relation to our thoughts, and what kind of words have true power.
Choose your connection speed above as we separate truly Godly speech from positive affirmations, and discover the type of words which can truly change our lives and the lives of those around us.

"If I be Lifted Up..."
By his death on the cross, Jesus fulfilled his part of the words, "If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me." And now it is our part to exalt him.
One way we exalt Jesus is by our words. Do you realize that we will give an account for every idle word we speak? And perhaps that's due at least in part to the effect our words have on those around us. The power of life and of death are in the tongue. Do you think perhaps life and death also apply to those around us?
If the people around us hear us griping and complaining, will they be drawn to Jesus by our speech? And if they hear us glorifying God in the middle of the most desperate situations, won't they be drawn to the One who gives us a reason to rejoice?
This is why we reach out to the more than three million people in the virtual community God has called us to touch. God gave us the ability to speak with others the blessings of a life filled with the unquenchable peace and joy of the Holy Spirit. And as we exalt Jesus in this way, he will draw them to himself.
Currently there are more than 3,301,657 people in the virtual community we have been called to reach, and that number grows by 75,000 to 250,000 per week. Help us reach as many of those as possible with the love and life-changing Good News of reconciliation with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
