God of the Living

This week's message is God of the Living. Choose your connection speed to listen: dialup - broadband - transcript

Celebrating God

Throughout Scripture, we read that God is the God of the living, not of the dead. We know his Word brings life, and death is simply separation from God, for none who die in Christ are truly dead.

When we celebrate a wedding, we don't celebrate the pretty clothes, the dancing and cake afterwards, or the rice or seed we throw on the bride and groom as they leave for their honeymoon. Rather, we celebrate their love, devotion, and life-long commitment to each other.

So it is with any celebration, we are celebrating whatever is behind the celebration, and the activities are a form of rejoicing in what the celebration represents. Today's message is a call to celebrate life, and to have no part in the celebration of that which is in opposition to the nature of Christ.

Choose your connection speed above and join us as we worship God in song and then explore the nature of God and how we can lift him up by celebrating what brings him glory.

What Do We Celebrate?

Some of the definitions of "celebrate" from are "to commemorate, to make known publicly, to proclaim, to praise widely or to present to widespread and favorable public notice..." Fellowship - click to enlarge

This time of year, do we join in a celebration which is rooted in death, fear, and darkness? Things which Jesus came to destroy? What do we commemorate, proclaim, and praise widely? Death, darkness, and fear, or life, light, and victory?

I challenge you this year to have nothing to do with any so-called "holiday" which makes witches, ghosts and goblins, vampires, and death look somehow cute, cuddly, and fun. Instead, celebrate Jesus by having no part in activities connected with that "celebration"; make every day of your life a celebration of the goodness of God, and the new life he offers us through his Son Jesus Christ.

This is why we go into a 3-D virtual world that is full of darkness, bondage, and hopelessness, and celebrate the vibrant life Jesus came to give -- the freedom, forgiveness, and reconciliation to God that comes only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Currently there are more than 1,179,847 people in the virtual community we have been called to reach, and that number grows by 10,000 to 40,000 per week. Help us reach as many of those as possible with the love and life-changing Good News of reconciliation with God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Please partner with us today! Ask God what he would have you do as a one-time gift to help cover the server upgrade, and as a monthly partner to help cover the monthly costs.

Additionally, you can ask us to send information about our ministry in the virtual world to your pastor, ministry, or Christian business. When they catch the vision and see what a large and virtually unreached mission field the virtual world is, they will be given the chance to play a part in this powerful outreach. Visit here to request information sent to your church, ministry, or Christian business.

Visit here to become a financial partner or give a one-time gift today. And remember, whatever you do to the least of these, you do unto Jesus.

Prayer Requests & Praise Reports

Healing from Cancer Candie asks us to pray for her sister, Felicia, who is starting chemotherapy. Another sister asked us to pray for an unnamed friend who was in remission for throat cancer, but it has returned. The name of Jesus is above the name of cancer!

Employment Donnad writes, "Please pray that i find a job soon, a good job, and enough money to get me and my son a good car for we don't have one. Please pray that the hate my brother has in his heart for me will go away... Please help my dad and brothers see that losing my job wasn't my fault, please pray they find it in their heart to speak to me again. Oh God in heaven please look out for me and my child during these hard times, please help me to make the correct decisions on [where to live]... Please God help me through my hard times... In Jesus Christ's name I pray, Amen."

Health Ahleah asked us to pray for her health, and the possibility of cancer. Please continue to pray for her complete healing.

Pray For Us! Please pray that God will continue to move through this ministry in an even greater measure. Without your prayers, our labor will not have much effect. But when the work of the ministry is backed by prayer, great things will happen!

Visit our prayer center to post requests or pray for those who daily request prayer. If you wish to be a prayer partner and have the requests e-mailed to you, contact us.
