Misdirected Glory Destroys
Today we take a brief look at the lives of celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, and ponder their emptiness and desperation. They had everything, and yet they were empty and without hope.
They had something we all have, only much more of it, and that one thing is "glory." More specifically, they had "misdirected" glory. Today we take a look at how we all should handle the glory we're given if it is to produce life instead of death.

All for the Glory of God
Scripture tells us, "Whatever you do, do all for the glory of God." Do you realize what could happen if the Church really did that? All too often (and we're all guilty of this), we accept and even seek after glory for ourselves instead of for God.
It may be the glory of being able to do whatever we want, the glory of riches, the glory of pride and dignity, the glory of recognition, or even the glory of appearing holy to others. But any glory which is directed upon ourselves is misdirected glory, and it will destroy us.
Jesus' model prayer, commonly called "The Lord's Prayer," ends with the words, "For thine is the glory..." It all belongs to him, and he says that he will not share his glory with flesh.
What's even more disturbing is that, when we glorify ourselves, our dreams, our causes, or anyone or anything else besides God, we are pointing others away from him. On the other hand, when we surrender all the glory to God, we point the world to him.

Prayer Requests & Praise Reports
Aunt Passed Away – Please pray for Elmo and her family. Her aunt has passed away and is with Jesus. Pray for peace and comfort, and that those in the family who don't know Jesus would be drawn to him through this time of loss.
A Godly Wife – Lucky writes, I am a divorcee(before I was saved), Zambian-born, living in Botswana for the past 18 years. I am training to become a pastor in a local Baptist Church. One of my challenges has been to find a true believer for a wife. Kindly pray for me to find a partner who will satsify both God's requirements and the demands on a pastor's requirements.
Pray For Us! Please pray that God will continue to move through this ministry in an even greater measure. Without your prayers, our labor will not have much effect. But when the work of the ministry is backed by prayer, great things will happen!
Visit our prayer center to post requests or pray for those who daily request prayer. If you wish to be a prayer partner and have the requests e-mailed to you, contact us.
